Lawrence Lundy-Bryan explores the intersection of artificial intelligence, blockchains and the internet of things. As Partner and Head of Research at Outlier Ventures he pioneered the funds’ Convergence investment thesis, leading to early investments in Ocean Protocol, Fetch.ai, SEED, Haja Networks, IOTA, and Evernym.
With a political background he leads the funds’ thinking on governance in decentralised networks. He helps inform the UK and EU on technology policy as an expert advisor to the UK All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Blockchain; steering committee member for the AI Global Governance Commission; community member of the UK All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on AI; member of the European Commission Observatory on Blockchain; and contributor to the UK Crypto-asset Taskforce led by HM Treasury, FCA and Bank of England. In addition, he is an advisor at Alice.si, a blockchain-based social funding platform, and a FinTech Fellow at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). He is a regular commentator on the technology industry and has provided analysis for the BBC, Bloomberg, The Economist, and The Wall Street Journal.
